What is CBD?
CBD, which is short for cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring compound that is found in hemp plants. Because hemp is a close relative of marijuana, there can be concerns about getting “high” off CBD, but the psychoactive properties are caused by delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) not CBD or the other compounds found in hemp.
What is a cannabinoid?
There are hundreds of chemical compounds found in hemp, one of which is cannabidiol (CBD). As a group, any of these hundreds of chemical compounds are considered a cannabinoid.
Is CBD legal?
Yes. Since the 2018 Farm Bill was signed into law, the FDA has allowed hemp to be produced and marketed as long as it doesn’t contain a concentration of more than 0.3% THC.
Can you become addicted to CBD?
No. According to the World Health Organization, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential … To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”
What is CBD used for?
CBD is often used to help individuals with sleeping, anxiety, pain, and regulating mood. Every individual uses CBD for their own purposes, so it’s important to understand how you feel while taking CBD and either increasing or decreasing the amount to find what works best for you.
How is Thru Hemp’s products THC free?
Our seed-to-shelf hemp products start off with hemp that is grown organically in Northwestern America and contains below 0.03% THC when harvested. The plants are then extracted to an oil that contains all the natural cannabinoids and terpenes found in the hemp plant. Next, we use a process called Spectrum Chromatography that identifies and removes the THC molecules, leaving a product that has all the benefits of CBD and other hemp cannabinoids without any THC. This leaves what is called Broad Spectrum hemp oil which is then used to create our zero THC CBD products.
Will Thru Hemp’s CBD show up in a drug test?
No. Because Thru Hemp is a zero-THC product, you don’t have to worry about failing a drug test from use of Thru Products.
How is broad spectrum CBD made?
Broad spectrum CBD contains beneficial cannabinoids without any THC. After harvesting organically grown hemp, the plants are extracted to an oil and then put through the Spectrum Chromatography process, removing any THC molecules. What’s left behind are only the beneficial hemp CBD and cannabinoids without the THC.
What’s the difference between full spectrum and broad spectrum CBD?
Full spectrum CBD contains several cannabinoids, including up to 0.3% THC, while broad spectrum CBD doesn’t use any compounds that have THC, even in small doses.
How Do I Know How Much Broad Spectrum CBD to Take?
We recommend starting with a dose of 30mg. From there, try to pay attention to how you feel throughout the day. Be aware of your brain and body—at low doses, these effects may be subtle. Over the course of a week or so of taking CBD every day, you should have a better idea of how much CBD is right for you and what time of day it’s best to take it. It’s not unusual to find that higher doses such as 75-100mg may be appropriate. Many users take a dose in the morning and a little bit higher of a dose an hour before bedtime as a sleep aid. <
How do I Know Which Thru Hemp Product is Right For Me?
If you’re looking for general relief from pain or stress, our CBD gummies and oils will both provide what you’re looking for. Their doses and cannabinoids are the same, just delivered differently. If you have a specific area of your body that is giving you pain, such as a muscle ache or joint pain, our highly concentrated CBD Pain Cream may be right for you.
Are Your Products Organic?
The hemp that we use to create our products is certified organic, as are all of the ingredients in both our oils and gummies. However, the processing facility that converts the hemp plants to the hemp oil is not certified, so our final products cannot be certified organic.
Do Your Products Contain CBG or CBN?
Yes! We use all-natural, organic hemp and only remove the trace amounts of THC. Our products contain high percentages of CBD, but we also have smaller percentages of the minor cannabinoids such as CBG and CBN. Science is still catching up on the many benefits of these minor cannabinoids, but it’s shown that there is an “entourage effect” where the variety of compounds work together in the body to increase the beneficial effects.
Is CBD oil the same as hemp seed oil?
CBD oil is made by extracting the chemical compound cannabidiol from the flowers of a hemp plant. Hemp seed oil is made by cold-pressing the hemp seeds, which doesn’t have CBD. Instead, hemp oil is an omega-rich oil that can be found in the health section of grocery stores and is used as a dietary supplement, or even in cooking to add omega to one’s diet.
